What is Acne
A skin disease known as acne causes a person to have small pimple like marks on their face, back and neck. Acne is well known among young people, mainly teenagers. A person with acne can become very self conscious about themselves and the disease can lead to depression. Some people have being known to try to take their life because of their acne and the severity of it.
Acne is caused by a number of things. The main reason people have acne is down to genetics. A recent study has found that if a male in the family has a case of acne then the chances are that another family member will have acne. During the teenage years many young people get acne because of the larger release of sex hormones and this can make the glands to become agitated and sebum is released which then causes a case of acne to occur.
Acne is so common within teenagers because their bodies are always changing. Stress in teenagers is a major cause of acne. Some people find that as they grow out of their teenage years and become an adult they still have a case of acne. Some people find that acne is stuck with them through adulthood and never goes away.
Acne is a major concern for many people; it’s more irritating and annoying for people rather than causing major damage to that person. However, acne can cause pain for people and can lead to low self esteem as well as people feeling self conscious about themselves. If acne does start to appear on your face then get it treated straight away. A lot of suicidal attempts and suicides have been down to people having very severe acne, so if you get it you should try your hardest to get rid of it as soon as possible so that it doesn’t affect your self esteem. A lot of teenagers have found that when their face is full of acne they become awkward, especially around people of the opposite sex.
