Acne scarring is a common thing and there are a number of ways you can treat the acne scars. Some treatments can treat it, while others cure it. A method that has been used for a good number of years is known as dermal fillers. Using dermal fillers to treat acne scars is simple; you have to inject your skin to raise the skin surface so that it then looks smoother and clearer. Fat, bovine collagen and human collagen or anything else similar to those can be used. Injecting yourself using dermal fillers will only work over a certain time and not cure the acne permanently, so to keep your skin acne free using this method you will have to keep using the injection of dermal filler.

There is a more severe way of getting rid of acne scars, which might also be more costly. You can have surgery known as punch excision to remove scars on your face. A doctor will be able to get rid of some of the deeper acne scars from your face by using a local anesthesia and then stitch the pieces of skin together. After the surgery has been completed the stitches can be taken out, but there might be a light scar on your face where you have had the surgery for a while.

A similar method to the one above in the last paragraph can be used, known as the punch excision with skin graft replacement. However, instead of stitching two bits of skin together they will remove some of your skin from behind your ear and place it in place of the scar they have removed. There is one slight disadvantage to this method; the skin taken from behind your ear is a different colour to that on your face, but using a skin treatment cream this can be fixed within a matter of a few weeks.

Acne sufferers can use other methods to clear their acne scars. Some methods will cure the acne on a temporary basis, an example being the dermal fillers. Other methods can cure the acne scars on a permanent basis such as the punch excision. Before attempting anything to remove the acne scars you should speak to a doctor to get his/her views on the issue.
